We've been in Elliott Heads before and the memory of being here made us come again. We love it here and staying so close to the beach was amazing. The beach is so calm and family friendly, so much sand for the kinds to play around, yet enough shade.

Unfortunately, we had quite a few downsides. The caretakers of the camping ground were really rude in more than one occasion.
- I went to the reception to get the key fob to access the family room (having 3 kids aged 5,3,1, I assume we're more than entitled to use it) and the lady asked the age of the kids, after responding to her, she asked how big the 1-year-old was which I thing it was a completely unreasonable and irrelevant question. Initially, she wanted me to come to her every time before using the family room to get the key fob, but eventually she gave me the key to keep, really reluctantly, for the length of the stay.
- In the first day of stay, I was in the toilet and about to get in the shower and the guy started barking at me saying it was cleaning time and I had to get out. Even though I completely understand I was in the bathroom at the wrong time, although unknowingly, there's absolutely no reason to be rude about it
- The biggest one though was when my mother-in-law had my 5-year-old son and my 3-year-old daughter in the family room to give them a shower and the same guy started banging in the door almost at the point of bringing the door down and saying she wasn't supposed to be in the family room.
Here are a few other downsides:
- there was a construction going on just outside the camping ground, so there was a lot of noise during the day. This wasn't actually a big deal since we have be warned about it
- the camping ground was really not family friendly, there was no playground and the sites were too small, making hard for the kids to play around. No wonder there was not other family with kids other than ours.
The downsides are really around the camping ground, Elliott Heads itself is amazing and we really recommend it. We also had a great time going for a wander around Bundaberg: a small zoo in the city, a really nice playground and boardwalk along the river.
One of the things we would really like to have done was going on a boat for whale watching, but unfortunately it was bad timing, apparently there were no whales in the water the day we wanted to go and our time was up in the city.
In our second last day here, we also say goodbye to grandma. She took a plane back to Brisbane and back to Brazil. She'd been with us for 4 months and we had a great time with her. We'll definitely miss her heaps. Hopefully, she will be back soon.
