Family of 5 seeking self-discovery and looking to always improve as human beings.

Our highlight in the Rainbow beach was definitely the tour we did with Greg from Surf and Sand Safaris. The amount of things we would simply miss by going on our own would be huge. Sand colouring, driving to the lighthouse and picking up sand crabs are some of them.

From: Brisbane
Distance: 149km
Accommodation: Rainbow Beach Holiday Park
Cost: $356 for 6 nights

We stayed at the Rainbow Beach Holiday Park and even though the site was really nice, the playground was great and we could see an outstanding sunset every single day from there, the fact that it's located about 5km away from the beach and from the city centre makes things a bit harder for us. Next time, we would probably look to stay closer to the beach.

One of the great things of this first stop was having our friends, Diego and Nina, joining us for a couple nights. It was great catching up with them and going for a few adventures and having some camp fires together. From here onwards, we're going to be further and further from home, so having friends joining us will be definitely harder.

Even though it was quite chilly in the morning and at night, we tried to take advantage of the great whether during the day. We went for a hike to the Carlo Sand Blow which the kids loved and the view is astonishing.

Here's a quick video we put together of this first part of the trip
